1 Care of Bronze Sculpture Recommended Maintenance
Programs for the Collector - 2nd Edition book by Patrick
V. Kipper
1 pair of extra long cuffed rubber gloves to protect
clothing and sensitive skin. They have textured palms and
finger tips for sure grip and have soft inner linings for
additional comfort.
1 7 oz. (200 ml.) container of Renaissance®
Wax. This wax is the undisputed perfect wax for bronze.
While others will work, this wax will be significantly easier
to use and will not discolor. A little bit goes a long way
so one can lasts much longer than other waxes and the dazzling
results are long lasting.
2 1 oz. packets of nonionic/neutral cleanser concentrate
with built in defoamers. Each packet makes two gallons of
cleansing solution that is thoroughly tested and is completely
safe to the bronze patina.
1 washing brush with long natural bristles and
a comfort grip handle. It was especially selected because
of its unique washing solution holding properties. In other
words, this brush is made with bristles made especially
to carry large quantities of cleaning solution. With this
brush, the surface of the bronze will be assured of being
drenched in soapy solution carrying away dirt and debris.
The chances of scratching the surface of the piece are virtually
eliminated with this brush.
1 pair of durable, white cotton gloves that can
be washed and reused as many times. Use these gloves when
applying and buffing the wax. They will always stay soft
and will never loose their hand hugging fit.
2 100% low-lint cotton towels selected for their
absorbency and softness that assures safe and gentle cleaning
of the bronze surface. Use one for cleaning and drying,
use the other for wax buffing and shining. These towels
will retain their qualities for years to come through many
many washings.
1 wax application brush with no scratch plastic
ferrule. A ferrule is the band that holds the bristles in
the handle. Most paint brushes found in hardware stores
have a metal ferule that can scratch the delicate patina
or could be rusty and discolor the bronze piece.
1 storage case to keep all the maintenance items
together and organized. This high quality case is easy to
clean and will rest perfectly on any standard sized shelf
where it is always easy to reach and ready to use.
1 – maintenance log. Printed on heavy card stock
for durability, to record each piece's maintenance history.
